Following Animal’s triumph, fans eagerly await Ranbir Kapoor‘s next step. A recent online video suggested that Ranbir and Konkona Sen Sharma, his co-star in Wake Up Sid, would be working on a project together. To the dismay of viewers, director Karan Johar, whose Dharma Productions supported Wake Up Sid, posted a video from the same shoot shortly after it first went viral on social media, revealing that it is, in fact, advertising.
Wake Up Sid 2 In The Making?
In the video that KJo posted, Konkona is heard merely saying, “Sid, wake up,” as she wakes up a sleeping Ranbir Kapoor. Today is Rishi’s day.”
Karan Johar captioned the video, writing, “Is this really happening? “I couldn’t have woken up to a better piece of news—all I know is that something exciting is brewing,” the post reads, along with the hashtags “#SidWakesUp #SiddyBoy #WUSgang #WhatsBrewing #ranbirkapoor #ad.”

One person commented on KJo’s post, which captured the sentiments of all Wake-Up Sid supporters, saying, “Don’t play with us like this.” In the meantime, actor Namit Das posted a “Who.”
Sizzling Chemistry In Wake Up Sid?
The film, which initially gained popularity on a Bollywood-focused Reddit board, is a compilation of images and clips in which Ranbir and Konkona are both seen wearing blue and white attire. To put things in perspective, Ayan Mukerji’s 2009 film Wake Up Sid was a critical and commercial success. Audiences found Ranbir and Konkona (as Siddharth Mehra and Aisha Banerjee) to be a perfect on-screen couple.
Netizens React
When the BTS video was first posted on Reddit with the description, “Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona shot for something recently,” fans were ecstatic. A Wake Up Sid sequel was much in demand. “Please make a movie for both of you,” an admirer commented. It should be Sid (Ranbir Kapoor) and Ayesha (Konkana Sen Sharma) again.”
“OMG, I wouldn’t mind a Wake Up Sid Part 2!!!” said another user. I’ve always talked on this blog about how much I enjoyed Ranbir and Konkona’s on-screen chemistry. Real but very subtle. Small gestures, eye contact, and vintage romanticism all come back. With a red heart emoji, “Kjo, Ranbir, Konkona, and Ayan, if you guys watch this channel often, please, please, make this happen (without adding any Gen Z elements, please keep the vibe as is).”
Even if this is only an advertisement, Konkona and Ranbir each have several fascinating projects coming up on their own. Regarding work, Konkona Sen Sharma’s upcoming film is Killer Soup on Netflix, and Ranbir Kapoor’s forthcoming films, Ramayana and Animal Park, will delight moviegoers.
