Earlier, when Mani Ratnam appeared for the Mumbai press conference, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan greeted him with a heartfelt hug.

The bond shared by Mani Ratnam and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is just so pure. The latter has worked with the iconic director four times, with Ponniyin Selvan 2 being the fourth one.

The director said:

“See, filmmaker is a very very selfish person.. absolutely heartless… the only thing you care for is the film… How much ever I love her, I will only ask her only if I think she is right for the role… and every time I have asked her is because I absolutely believed that she is right for the role and she has been nice enough to say yes. So, it is not the charm, it is only her talent and personality that would portray this character.”

Aishwarya told The Hindu,

“Listening to him back then was like sitting in front of a teacher; I just knew that it was the perfect place for me to start my work as an actor. I didn’t have any previous training. No one in my family has ever had any links to the film industry. I was nosediving into it and when I met Mani, I knew this was where I had to start. I sort of felt like I belonged.”

Aishwarya Rai’s gesture is undoubtedly winning hearts. The audience appreciates the actress’ humility. Did you appreciate Aishwarya’s gesture? Let us know in the comments below.
